Lambton Presbytery Executive met at St. Paul’s United Church, Petrolia on March 18, 2015. Carolyn Wilson Wynne opened the meeting with prayer at 1:34 p.m. She constituted the meeting, saying, “In the name of Jesus, the one true head of the Church and by the authority vested in me as Lambton Presbytery past chair, I now declare this meeting constituted for the transaction of such business as may properly come before it.”

AGENDA
Moved by Pete Brennan, seconded by Carey Wagner, and carried that the agenda be approved as printed.

CORRESPONDENCE (See Appendix 2015: 23-24)
The secretary reported that she had received a hard copy of information on the new compensation package for ministry personnel that will take effect July 1, 2015.

CONSENT DOCKET ( See Appendix 2015: 25)
Moved by Connie Ellis, seconded by Pete Brennan, and carried that the Consent Docket be approved as circulated.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

The payment of the Presbytery Scan from Edge was discussed.

REPORTS

STEWARDSHIP OVERSIGHT DIVISION

Jim Louks reported that Wilkesport United and Port Lambton United are in the process of trying to sell their manse and is getting an appraisal. Blackwell United is awaiting offers for its building and property.

MISSION OVERSIGHT DIVISION

Pat Whitton said the group that is investigating the possibility of establishing a refugee committee plans to submit a motion to establish a presbytery refugee committee.

PASTORAL OVERSIGHT DIVISION

Pastoral Relations Carey Wagner
Carey Wagner gave a report on pastoral charges within the presbytery seeking ministers. (See Appendix: 2015: 26-27)

Sandra Fogarty reported that Central United has removed the “interim designation” for its ministry posting at its congregational meeting. The report will need to be revised for the website to reflect this change.
Sandra Fogarty indicated her intention to apply for interim designation.

Several executive members indicated their concern that the Presbytery Scan that was completed by Edge did not reflect the latest statistics.

NOMINATION REPORT- Carolyn Wilson Wynne
Moved by Carey Wagner, seconded by Ann Carr, and carried that Jim Louks be appointed a member-at-large for Lambton Presbytery.

The Pastoral Oversight Division is seeking a chair, as Marilyn Townsend-Smith has resigned as chair effective the rise of Conference.

LONDON CONFERENCE EXECUTIVE REPORT by Connie Ellis
Connie Ellis said the next meeting of the London Conference Executive will be at Uncle Tom’s Cabin. She said that executive is continuing to discuss the Iona College’s continued affiliation with the United Church of Canada.

PRESBYTERIAL UNITED CHURCH WOMEN- Ann Carr
Ann Carr outlined the upcoming events of the United Church Women. The Lambton Presbyterial United Church Women, UCW, will hold its annual meeting on March 25, 2015 at
St. Luke’s United. The theme of “Our Anchor Still Holds” will be addressed by Rev. Melanie Kirk of St. Luke’s United. The London Conference UCW’s annual meeting will be held in Sault Ste. Marie April 19-20, 2015. Westminster Weekend will be held at the Best Western Stoneridge Inn, London May 1-3, 2015. The Summer Even will be held at Siloam United on July 18, 2015.

NEW BUSINESS
NOTICE OF MOTION will
be presented at the Presbytery meeting on April16, 2015 as it

relates to the meeting on May 21, 2015 on the Comprehensive Task Group Report.

CHEQUE SIGNING John Yates is to remain a signing authority until March 31, 2015. The executive agreed that two signatures on cheques were sufficient, until a new treasurer is appointed.

NEW TREASURER - Stewardship Oversight Committee was asked to prepare a job description to be emailed to presbyters.
